Three Party Agreement: No Election Signs on Public Property

December 9, 2005

Three of the four main parties in Lanark, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington have agreed not to place campaign signs on public property during this federal election.

The Conservatives, the Green Party and the NDP will not be placing signs on public property – except on roadways beside the mailbox or laneway, where the homeowner has requested it. The three parties hope that the Liberal campaign will make a decision to join them in this initiative.

The three campaigns agreed that the policy respects public space; it is good for the environment and will increase safety for campaign workers. It is a win-win for all concerned.

Bobby Clarke – Green Party Campaign Manger – 1-613-256-9424.
