January 29
January 29, 2024Today, January 29, we mark the 7th anniversary of the heinous murder of six of our fellow citizens who were killed solely for practising their faith in peace, in their place of worship, because they were Muslim.
Violence and bigotry directed against religious believers, based on their religion, is inimical to a free, peaceful, and plural society. I stand with victims of anti-religious bigotry and violence. Canada must be a place for people of all faiths and creeds to live in peace and liberty.
On this sad anniversary, we can put a candle in our window to show our solidarity with the victims of this crime, and our opposition to bigotry and violence toward members of any faith community.
