Reid Survey’s Lanark County

May 2, 2003

CARLETON PLACE – Scott Reid, MP for Lanark-Carleton, in response to the Electoral Boundaries Commission’s proposal to divide Lanark County between two electoral districts, has mailed a survey card to all households in Lanark County. The card asks respondents, who feel that all of Lanark County should be part of the same electoral district, to mail the pre-addressed card to the speaker of the House of Commons who will forward it to the Electoral Boundaries Commission.

The Electoral boundaries Commission proposes to divide Lanark County between two districts even though they were presented with a survey showing 84% of respondents from Lanark County felt it should remain united. The Lanark County Warden also made a presentation to the Commission calling for the County to remain intact.
